Answers About Our Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractors work with the spine and nervous system to restore proper alignment and function. When the spine is distorted, it affects everything — how you move, how you feel, and how your body operates day to day. At Cornerstone, we use evidence-based assessment and precise Gonstead adjustments to correct those distortions at the source, not just manage the symptoms they create.

Yes — and we take that responsibility seriously. Chiropractic care has a strong safety record, and at Cornerstone, we add another layer of confidence through the Gonstead method. Because we use detailed X-rays and precise assessment before any adjustment, we know exactly what we’re working with. Nothing is generalized. Every correction is specific, intentional, and informed by what your imaging actually shows.

Chiropractic care is commonly used to address conditions such as:

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Sciatica
  • Sports injuries
  • Other

The length of care varies depending on the patient’s condition and goals. After an initial assessment, your doctor will recommend a care plan based on your individual needs.

New Patients

No referral is necessary. You can begin by selecting a Cornerstone location and scheduling your first visit directly with the clinic.

Your first visit is built around one goal: understanding your spine completely before recommending any care. We gather your health history, take detailed digital X-rays, and assess your spine through nervoscope scanning, hands-on evaluation, and movement assessment. Then your doctor walks you through the findings and what they mean for your care. You leave with clarity.

Each individual visit is generally around 15 minutes.

Please rewrite: During your first visit, you’ll share your health history with your doctor, complete an examination including and x-ray and thermographic analysis to determine friction and inflammation points along your spine. Your doctor will review all of the data before adjusting you. Typically adjustments begin on the second visit.

A typical first appointment at Cornerstone is generally around 45 minutes long.

Foundational Correction

Foundational Correction is Cornerstone’s evidence-based approach to long-term spinal health. Rather than managing symptoms, we prevent further damage, correct the root cause, and protect your results — through three pillars: Foundational Ergonomics, Gonstead Chiropractic, and Foundational Movement. It’s care designed to last.

Foundational distortions are misalignments in the spine — particularly at its base — that cause the body to compensate and adapt in ways that create nerve interference, joint stress, and progressive damage over time. They’re often the root cause behind symptoms that seem unrelated to the spine. Identifying and correcting them precisely is what Foundational Correction is built around.

Many chiropractic approaches focus primarily on relieving symptoms after they appear. Foundational Correction focuses on identifying and correcting structural distortions so the spine can return to a more stable state.

X-rays let us see what your body can’t tell us on its own. We use detailed imaging to identify exactly where your spine needs correction — so every adjustment is precise, intentional, and based on evidence, not guesswork.

The spine is our foundation — but it’s not the whole story. Misalignment in the extremities can contribute to spinal stress, and vice versa. At Cornerstone, we regularly assess and adjust shoulders, knees, wrists, hips, ankles, and more as part of a complete approach to how your body functions. Whole-body alignment isn’t a bonus — it’s part of the care.

Conditions & Symptoms

Many headaches trace back to distortions in the cervical spine — nerve interference and structural imbalance that medication can mask but not correct. At Cornerstone, we assess whether spinal structure is contributing to your headaches and, when it is, address it at the root cause rather than managing symptoms.

Sciatica is your nervous system telling you there’s pressure on the sciatic nerve — usually from a structural distortion in the lumbar spine or pelvis. At Cornerstone, we identify exactly where that distortion is through detailed X-rays and Gonstead assessment, and correct it at the root cause rather than managing the pain it creates.

Yes. Pregnancy creates significant changes in spinal load and pelvic alignment — and gentle chiropractic care can help your body adapt through every stage. At Cornerstone, we have experience caring for expectant mothers and tailor our approach accordingly, using precise Gonstead adjustments that are safe, comfortable, and supportive throughout pregnancy.
